REGISTRATION: Registration dates, times and fees vary according to program. Requirements and information for each class are outlined below.

CONTINUING VIOLIN I/II/III

PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years on the instrument, or, two (2) years with teacher’s recommendation
  • Very good music reading skills, including moderate to difficult sixteenth note rhythms
  • Ability to play music ranging in difficulty from Grade 4 through Grade 5
  • Major scales in key signatures: C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db
  • Positive attitude
  • Attend all rehearsals and performances
  • Willing to prepare (practice) music between rehearsals
  • Private lessons are strongly recommended for all members
  • Woodwind, brass and percussion players must be members of their respective school symphonic or concert band
  • Instruments accepted into the Philharmonic Orchestra are: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, timpani, drums, drum set, mallets, other percussion instruments, violin, viola, cello, string bass
  • Students up to grade 12 will be accepted

CONTINUING VIOLIN I

Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year on the instrument (Violin I)
  • Ability to play music ranging in difficulty from second half of Essential Elements Book 1 or Suzuki Book 1
  • Good music reading skills, including eighth note and simpler sixteenth note rhythms
  • Ability to play music ranging in difficulty from second half of Essential Elements Book 1 or Suzuki Book 1
  • Major scales in key signatures: C, G, D, A
  • Positive attitude, ready to listen and learn
  • Attend all rehearsals and performances
  • Willing to prepare (practice) music between rehearsals
  • Students from 4th grade and up will be accepted

First rehearsal Continuing Violin I: January 7, 9am-9:45am
Location: H.P. Baldwin High School Room M-1
NO Classes on February 25, 2017
Tuition for 2016-2017 Season Fall Classes (January 7 - April 22):
$25 non-refundable registration fee due at time of enrollment. Payment is due whether student attends class or not.
  • Payment Option 1: Payment of $20 per class due at the beginning of class.
  • Payment Option 2: Payment in 4 monthly installments of $71.25 Discount of 5%.
  • Payment Option 3: Payment in full of $270 Discount of 10%.
Please have the first payment ready on the first day of classes.

CONTINUING VIOLIN II & III

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years on the instrument or teacher recommendation (Violin II)
  • 3 years experience or teacher recommendation (Violin III)
  • Ability to play music ranging in difficulty from end of Suzuki Book 1/early Book 2 (Violin II)
  • Ability to play music ranging in difficult from end of Suzuki Book 2/early Book 3(Violin III)
  • Good music reading skills
  • Positive attitude, ready to listen and learn
  • Attend all rehearsals and performances
  • Willing to prepare (practice) music between rehearsals
  • Students from 4th grade and up will be accepted
  • Private lessons are strongly recommended for all members
