Auditions
Auditions are required for membership in the Philharmonic Orchestra. Only the following instruments will be accepted in the Philharmonic: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn, trumpet/cornet, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, string bass, timpani, snare drum, bass drum, various cymbals, various mallet instruments, drum set, and other miscellaneous percussion instruments.
Auditions will be used to determine the level of musicianship of each student and the student's placement in the Philharmonic Orchestra. It will also determine the seating assignment in each section including concertmaster and the section leaders.
Audition music is listed below by instrument. Additional audition requirements, such as scales are also described below.
